How does an SBTM meeting work?
SBTM (Sunday Bilingual Toastmasters Club) meets on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month, 4-6 PM. We meet in person in Seocho-gu, Seoul (Donbuneun Ajit, 3rd floor), and you can also join online via Zoom. We are a bilingual club that runs in English and Korean, and if you are new, you are welcome to just come and watch.

How we use two languages
SBTM uses English and Korean together.
- The Toastmaster and the General Evaluator use different languages. For example, if the Toastmaster speaks English, the General Evaluator speaks Korean.
- Every meeting has at least one Korean speech and one English speech.
- A speech is evaluated in the language it was given in. English speeches in English, Korean speeches in Korean.
- In the app's Roles screen, the (한) and (영) marks next to the Toastmaster and speakers show the language of the day.
- You don't need to be comfortable in both languages. Some members come to practice one language, others to practice both.
If it is your first time
- There is a guest introduction during the meeting. When the Chairperson calls your name, come up to the stage (online: turn on your mic) and briefly introduce yourself in English or Korean, within 1 minute.
- Please leave your name and details in the online guest book.
- If you feel ready, try Table Topics.
- At the end, the Chairperson may ask for your brief comments.
